Impreza Concept

I have always been a fan of the EVO and WRX/STi. They offer the best bang for your buck in terms of performance with their turbo charged engines and all wheel drive. Their looks on the other hand, well they have never been very good looking. Especially the Impreza as of late. During the recent LA autoshow, Subaru has introduced their Impreza concept which shows the new design direction for the company. Hopefully most of the design makes it into production because I am liking what I see so far. Maybe I found my next car to replace my beloved bug eye.

I picked up a pair of glasses from Warby Parker a while back. They have a great selection of frames and for $95 with lenses I couldn’t resist purchasing one as a second pair of glasses.

I ended up picking up a pair of Digby’s in striped chestnut.

Sabbatical is over. I’ll try to post some stuff from my break when I have time. But for now it’s back to the daily grind. I’m not used to waking up early and working full eight hour days. I feel pretty tired at the end of the day. Back at work I’m back listening to mixcrate which one of my coworkers have introduced to me a while back. It’s a site where dj’s can share their mixes and everyone can listen or download for free.

Good Wood: Burton Nug

Yeah it’s kinda summerish right now but I’m already looking forward to this year’s snowboarding season. I am already looking online for snowboard deals. At first I was looking at the 2010 Burton Custom Limited. But then I checked out TransWorld Snowboarding’s Good Wood 2011 test. One board in particular caught my eye-the Burton Nug. It has new Burton tech which allows the rider to use a shorter board which translates to quicker response but without losing stability. You can toss it around the park AND easily ride it in powder. I wanted my next board to be shorter than my current 155. If what I read about the Nug on other blogs and forums are true, I think I may have found my next board.

I had to delay my sabbatical to September and October instead of April as originally planned. However, I kinda lucked out because the weather has been perfect lately. I guess our summer was late this year. We have been having week after week of hot weather. Sometimes too hot. I always find myself taking the fan out of the storage. If I had the money I would definitely get one of those Dyson air multipliers. If was rich and was bored I would probably do this…

Torture: NLDS Game 1

Giants v. Braves Game 1.

I bought tickets right when the Giants clinched their division. The game was torture as is any Giants game. They only had one run scored but that was enough because Lincecum pitched lights out for nine innings with 14 K’s.
